Major Accident Occurs in Yerevan: Several Injured

Today, on May 5, a serious car accident occurred in Yerevan. At approximately 1:50 PM, at the beginning of D. Malayan Street, a collision took place between a Subaru and a VAZ 21014 vehicle, along with a parked Opel.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamsyan, two individuals were hospitalized with varying degrees of bodily injuries as a result of the accident. One of the injured was rescued from the vehicle by the rescuers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Rescue Service, specifically from the unit number 11 and the center for carrying out special rescue operations.

The emergency medical teams acted quickly, providing first aid to the injured on-site before their transfer to hospitals. The police and investigation department are working to establish the identities of the drivers and the injured.

The traffic on the mentioned street has been temporarily halted. Patrol officers have also cordoned off the area and are conducting heightened security measures on-site.
