US Embassy in Ukraine Warns of Threat from Missile Strikes

The US Embassy in Ukraine is warning American citizens about the ongoing high threat of missile strikes, including in Kyiv and the surrounding Kyiv region, issuing security instructions in light of recent escalations in attacks against Ukraine and Moscow's inflammatory rhetoric.

According to a statement on the embassy's website, "Given the recent rise in attacks against Ukraine and Moscow's inflammatory rhetoric, the State Department warns American citizens of the continued threat of missile strikes, including in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The US Embassy urges American citizens to heed air attack warnings and seek proper shelter."

The embassy has also posted additional security guidelines. Among other things, American citizens are advised to monitor alerts on air strikes, to take cover appropriately, to follow local authorities' instructions, or to leave Ukraine.
