Strange and Mysterious: French Foreign Minister on Drone Attack on the Kremlin

France's Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, described the alleged attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin's Kremlin residence as "strange" and "mysterious." She made this statement in an interview with the French radio station France Inter.

According to the Foreign Minister, there are several theories to explain this attempted attack, which is "rather difficult to understand in normal circumstances." Colonna reminded that "Ukrainians officially declared as of yesterday that they have no connection to this event, which remains unexplained."

The French senior diplomat also referred to the statement made by Dmitry Medvedev, Vice Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and former president, who suggested that following yesterday's "terrorist act," there are no options left but the physical elimination of Zelensky and his clique.

Colonna accused the second-highest official in Russia of making such threatening remarks. She stated that Russia "is clearly trying to intimidate, sow fear, and find pretexts that could justify the unjustifiable" through this escalation.

"He is the head of state, elected through democratic means, so it is important to respect physical integrity as an internationally recognized right to life. Otherwise, it could set a very bad precedent that spreads to neighboring countries or elsewhere," emphasized the French Foreign Minister.

Recall that yesterday, the Russian presidential administration reported that Kyiv attempted to strike President Vladimir Putin's Kremlin residence with drones on Wednesday night. No one was reported injured as a result. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied any involvement in the drone attack on the Kremlin.

"We are not attacking Putin or Moscow; we are fighting in our territory," Zelensky said at a press conference in Helsinki.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken mentioned that Washington could not confirm the reports of the attack and that the Russian claims should be accepted "with a great deal of skepticism."

The incident was also addressed by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, stating that there are no other options left but the physical elimination of Zelensky and his clique.
