Gor Abrahamyan on Possible Gunshots at 'Mkhtiar Sebastatsi' Educational Complex

Considering that numerous media outlets have inquired about possible gunshots at the 'Mkhtiar Sebastatsi' Educational Complex in Yerevan, I would like to provide the following information. This was written by Gor Abrahamyan, the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of Armenia, on his Facebook page.

“On May 3, 2023, a report was received indicating that between April 15 and May 3, 2023, an unknown individual deliberately damaged the windows of the 'Mkhtiar Sebastatsi' Educational Complex with an unidentified object, which, according to the report, was an air gun. As a result, the complex sustained property damage.

In connection with the report, a criminal proceeding has been initiated in the Malatia-Sebastia division of the Yerevan Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia under the first part of Article 334 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and a preliminary investigation is underway. An inspection of the scene revealed 22 damages on the walls and windows of the educational complex. No traces of gunfire or metallic cartridges were found at the scene. A forensic examination has been assigned.

Investigative and procedural actions are being carried out to clarify the circumstances of the incident, the possible means of the crime, as well as to identify the person or persons who may have committed the apparent crime.

The police have been instructed to undertake operational and investigative measures,” wrote Abrahamyan.
