Azerbaijan Continues Policy of Force and Threats According to Pashinyan in Prague
The situation in our region remains tense, stated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference in Prague.
“The reason for this is that, despite the well-known agreements, Azerbaijan continues its policy of using force and threats, constantly escalating the situation at the border with Armenia, in Nagorno-Karabakh, and in the Lachin corridor,” he noted.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the international community should provide a clear and targeted assessment of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, especially since Azerbaijan's actions are preparations for ethnic cleansing of Armenians in the region.
“We consider the deployment of an international fact-finding group to Nagorno-Karabakh and the Lachin corridor to be necessary. At the same time, I want to emphasize that, despite all difficulties, the government of Armenia has adopted a peace agenda. We believe that there is no alternative to peace in our region,” Pashinyan stated, noting that Armenia is fully engaged in the negotiation process with Azerbaijan and will remain involved in the future, aiming to achieve results rather than negotiate for the sake of negotiating.
