VIDEO: Construction Waste from Victory Bridge Thrown into Gorge, 720,000 AMD Charged for Transport – ALERT
“You probably all know that the Yerevan City Hall is renovating the Victory Bridge. Today, I, along with Arthur Chakhoyan, went to familiarize ourselves with the work; overall, the quality of the work is acceptable, but we will give a final assessment after completion,” reported user Edward Hayrumyan, sharing a video with his Facebook post.
“However, in the meantime, at least two serious violations of the law have already been committed by the builders, which the relevant authorities of the Yerevan City Hall have 'chosen not to notice.' The previously undamaged and high-quality tiles on the bridge sidewalks were thrown away as waste, whereas they could have been used for other secondary sidewalks.
During the construction process, part of the construction waste was dumped into the gorge by the bridge, while the rest was 'concealed' in various places around the bridge. However, according to the contract signed with the city hall, this construction company was supposed to transport the waste to a designated landfill, for which they were paid from the state budget.
Hours ago, the user informed in another post that the Yerevan City Hall has allocated 720,000 AMD for the removal of construction debris from the Victory Bridge, and the contract also states that the waste must be taken to a legal landfill 13 km away.
