VIDEO: Artsakh is the gateway that will open the path to Armenia, says Abrahamyan
Azerbaijan has effectively achieved one of its primary objectives: the idea of establishing an Azerbaijani checkpoint in the corridor connecting Armenia to Artsakh. This was announced from the podium of the National Assembly by Tigran Abrahamyan, the secretary of the 'I Have Honor' parliamentary faction.
“The Armenian government not only failed to take serious steps to prevent the depopulation of Artsakh, ethnic cleansing, and security issues concerning our compatriots, but also, through its statements, contributed to the favorable conditions for Azerbaijani aggression. The readiness to remove the issue of Artsakh from its own agenda, to push it into the domain of other subjects, to support Artsakh solely on humanitarian grounds, and to recognize Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity—which does not include any mention of the right to self-determination and its implementation—has created a favorable environment for Azerbaijan to proceed with the installation of illegal checkpoints and incite complex situations in Artsakh even in violation of documented agreements,” he stated.
Abrahamyan noted that Azerbaijani aggressive actions should raise serious concerns for Russia, which is not only one of the parties to the trilateral agreement but has also taken on a significant role in Artsakh.
