The U.S. Believes Peace is Possible Between Armenia and Azerbaijan: Patel

The United States is pleased to host Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and to support negotiations, said Vedant Patel, deputy spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, during a press briefing while responding to a reporter's question.

He noted that the discussions aim for a peaceful future in the South Caucasus region.

"Secretary Blinken had the honor of welcoming the foreign ministers at a dinner and attending the opening of the plenary session at the George P. Schultz Foreign Affairs Training Center. The Secretary believes that direct dialogue is the key to resolving issues and achieving lasting peace," Patel said.

He emphasized that Secretary Blinken is deeply engaged in this matter. Patel also spoke about the active participation of Senior Coordinator Bono in the process.

The deputy spokesperson added that the U.S. will continue to pay attention to the matter, believing that peace is attainable between these two countries.
