Cavushoglu Comments on the Deployment of Illegal Checkpoint in the Lachin Corridor

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavushoglu addressed journalists regarding Azerbaijan's illegal checkpoint at the Hakari Bridge in the Lachin Corridor. According to Ermenihaber.am, Cavushoglu made several unfounded accusations against Armenia during his remarks.

"Armenia is sending illegal weapons to Nagorno-Karabakh through various routes. Azerbaijan has uncovered this. Drones are monitoring the situation. That is why Azerbaijan has built that checkpoint; it is a completely justified action. It is extremely important for the security of Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh," Cavushoglu stated.

The head of Turkey's Foreign Ministry reiterated the baseless claims made by Turkey and Azerbaijan that the aforementioned territories are "Azerbaijani lands." It should be noted that on April 23, Azerbaijan closed the Hakari Bridge connecting Armenia to Artsakh, which lies within the Russian peacekeeping zone in the Lachin Corridor, and subsequently established a checkpoint, fully blockading the villages of Lisagor, Mets Shen, Yeghdzahogh, and Hin Shen in the Shushi region.
