Ukraine Signs New Contracts with Turkish Baykar
Ukraine has signed three new contracts with the Turkish company Baykar, as reported by Interfax-Ukraine, citing the country’s Minister of Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin.
The agreements were reportedly reached as a result of participation in the Teknofest 2023 international aviation technology exhibition held in Istanbul. Kamyshin did not disclose the details of the agreements. However, he added that the new contracts provide Ukraine with "export revenues and new generation weapons."
It is noteworthy that in 2018, Ukraine signed a contract with Turkey for the purchase of six Bayraktar TB2 drones produced by Baykar. In 2022, it became known that Ukraine plans to purchase dozens of strike drones from Baykar, as well as build a factory in Ukraine for the production of such drones.
