The Man Killed on Myasnikyan Avenue was a Citizen of the Netherlands: Investigative Committee

According to preliminary data, the man killed on Myasnikyan Avenue is a citizen of the Netherlands. This information was reported by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

Earlier, it was reported that shots were fired in front of the first entrance of the second building on Myasnikyan Avenue, resulting in the death of a 54-year-old man. Police and investigators found two fired 9 mm caliber cartridges and one fired bullet at the scene, as well as traces of gunfire on the entrance door.

The body of the man, who had apparent gunshot wounds to the head, was discovered near the entrance. It was determined that he was a resident of the same building and, according to preliminary information, a citizen of the Netherlands.

Numerous witnesses have been questioned. Several hypotheses have been put forward regarding the incident, and extensive operational-search, procedural, and investigative actions are being carried out. A comprehensive forensic medical, forensic ballistics, and forensic trace examination has been appointed.

The investigation is ongoing. Urgent measures are being taken to clarify and discover the circumstances of the incident, as well as to identify and apprehend the person or persons responsible for the crime.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Investigative Committee's Third Division of the Central and Norq-Marash administrative districts based on Article 155, Part 1 (murder) and Article 335, Part 1 (illegal circulation of firearms, their main components, military ammunition, and other materials, devices, and objects) of the RA Criminal Code.
