Edgar Ghazaryan Files Lawsuit with Court

The public political figure Edgar Ghazaryan has made a post on his Facebook page. He stated, "I have filed a lawsuit with the first instance general jurisdiction civil court of Yerevan and the first instance general jurisdiction courts of Ararat and Vayots Dzor regions, asking the courts to compel the members of the National Assembly from the 'Civil Contract' faction, Arthur Hovhannisyan (who is also the faction's secretary) and Rustam Bakoyan, to apologize for the insults and slanderous remarks directed at me during the extraordinary session of the Human Rights Protection and Public Issues Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on April 4, 2023, while also seeking compensation.

My lawsuit regarding the invalidation of the decision No. AŽO-69-A by the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on April 11, 2023, concerning the election of Anahit Manasyan to the position of Human Rights Defender, is currently pending at the Administrative Court. Furthermore, I have not yet received any official information regarding the report of the instances of hooligan behavior by several members of the 'Civil Contract' faction, which was submitted to the Prosecutor General, other than that it has been sent from the Prosecutor General's Office to the Yerevan City Prosecutor's Office and subsequently to the prosecutors of the Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative regions.
