Artsakh President Calls for Security Council Meeting
On May 1, Artsakh Republic President Araik Harutyunyan convened a meeting of the Security Council.
The meeting discussed the installation of an Azerbaijani checkpoint in the Lachin corridor, which connects the Artsakh Republic with the Republic of Armenia, as well as illegal actions by Azerbaijan that hinder the free movement of Artsakh citizens, prevention of such actions, and related issues.
The operational situation in the corridor area was presented, and the necessity for strict adherence to the provisions of the trilateral statement from November 9, 2020, was emphasized.
President Harutyunyan issued directives to the heads of relevant agencies, including ensuring the security of four villages in the Shushi region that are surrounded, in cooperation with Russian peacekeepers, and securing the supply of necessary goods for their livelihood.
