Western Policy Led to Ukraine's Loss of Nuclear Weapons - Podolyak
Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian President's Office, has accused the United States and Western countries of being responsible for Ukraine's loss of nuclear weapons. He made this statement on Twitter.
“Unfortunately, the United States, together with several Western nations, urged Ukraine to give up nuclear and other weapons,” he said.
Podolyak described this policy as 'wrong.' He also expressed the opinion that lasting peace in Europe can only be achieved after Ukraine joins NATO.
Earlier, former U.S. President Bill Clinton expressed regret over having compelled Ukraine to give up its nuclear arms in 1994.
