Video: 'Molotov Cocktail' Thrown at Russian Culture and Science Center in Cyprus; Building on Fire
The building of the Russian Culture and Science Center in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, has caught fire. Eyewitnesses report that a 'Molotov cocktail' was thrown at the building, a type of incendiary device also known as gasoline bomb, firebomb, and poor man's grenade. This was confirmed by Alina Radchenko, the head of the center, in a statement to the Russian news agency TASS.
“There were two strong explosions, and the wall and roof are on fire. People have been evacuated. The police have cordoned off the building, and firefighters are working on-site,” Radchenko said.
