NATO Fighters Spot Three Russian Aircraft in the Baltic Sea

The German Air Force has reported the sighting of two Russian Su-27 fighter jets and an Il-20 electronic reconnaissance aircraft in international airspace over the Baltic Sea, flying without transponder signals. This information was shared via the German Air Force's Twitter account.

According to reports, the identification of the aircraft was carried out by Eurofighter jets from the UK and Germany, after which the planes were detected. The German Air Force stated that this is the second occurrence of Russian military aircraft flying over the Baltic Sea without transponder signals.

Earlier, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) had announced the detection of two Russian aircraft in the U.S. air defense zone. “The Russian aircraft remained in international airspace and did not enter the sovereign territory of the United States or Canada. Such actions by Russia are ongoing and are not considered a threat or provocation,” emphasized NORAD.
