Mirzoyan and the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Discuss the Situation in Nagorno-Karabakh

On April 25, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Galuzin held consultations in Yerevan with Armenia's Deputy Foreign Ministers V. A. Gevorgyan and M. A. Safaryan. Galuzin also had a private conversation with Armenia's Foreign Minister A. S. Mirzoyan, as reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The exchange of ideas focused on issues of bilateral relations and regional security. The parties noted the positive dynamics of Russian-Armenian allied cooperation. The advancement of dialogue at a high level and the increase in collaboration between relevant agencies through parliamentary ties, interregional contacts, and cultural connections were highlighted.

A record dynamic in trade and economic relations was also mentioned. Satisfaction was expressed regarding the degree of coordination between Russia and Armenia within international organizations.

The situation in the region was discussed in detail, particularly in the context of escalating tensions in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh, which raises serious concerns. The need to intensify efforts towards the resolution of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations along all tracks was outlined in accordance with the agreements reached between the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan on November 9, January 11, November 26, 2020, and October 31, 2022.
