Kalin Comments on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Treaty Signature
The signing of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty is in the interests of both countries. This process will also have a positive impact on Armenia-Turkey relations. Therefore, we will continue to support peaceful negotiations,” said Ibrahim Kalin, spokesman for the President of Turkey, during a conference titled “100 Years of Turkey’s Foreign Policy.”
Kalin noted that Turkey has begun the process of normalizing relations with Armenia, aiming to create an atmosphere of peace and stability in collaboration with all regional countries: Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Iran.
The Turkish presidential spokesman expressed the view that France and other actors complicate the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, calling for a more constructive position from them. At the same time, Kalin reiterated that since the 44-day war, Ankara has stood by Baku and will always do so.
