Erdogan Cancels Participation in All Events Scheduled for Tomorrow

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has canceled his physical participation in all events scheduled for Thursday. This was reported by the ruling party in Turkey.

The presidential candidate rally involving the country's leader has been postponed to another date. In addition, it is reported that Erdogan will join the ceremony for the delivery of Russian-made nuclear fuel to the Akkuyu nuclear power plant via video link.

Opposition representatives are spreading rumors that the Turkish president has suffered a heart attack.

The 69-year-old Erdogan is the longest-serving leader of Turkey and has secured numerous victories during over 20 years in power. Additionally, he managed to survive the 2016 coup attempt.

However, analysts indicate that this year's early elections will be the most challenging of his political career. A large number of voters are dissatisfied with Erdogan's economic policies as well as the government's response in the first days following the devastating earthquake on February 6.
