9-Year-Old Boy's Hand Trapped Under Lavash Maker in Shirak
Today, on April 26, a serious incident occurred in the Shirak region. Around 11:15 AM, the National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia received a call that a boy's hand was trapped under a lavash maker next to the "Mush" supermarket in the city of Artik. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, a firefighting and rescue unit from the 49th rescue service of Artik with one combat team arrived at the scene. An operational group from the Artik division of the Police of the Republic of Armenia also arrived, led by division head Harutyun Adamyan.
It was found that at a lavash production facility located at 10/11 Baghramyan Street, under still unidentified circumstances, a 9-year-old boy from Artik had his hand caught under the serrated roller of the lavash accepting conveyor. Before the arrival of the firefighters and rescuers, the bakery staff managed to free the child's hand from the trap and transported him to the "Artik" medical center, where doctors diagnosed him with a crushed-lacerated injury to the forearm of his right hand. Following this, he was transferred to the "Heratsi" Medical Center No. 1 in Yerevan.
