"Empty Pots March" in France on Macron's Re-election Anniversary
Spontaneous demonstrations have taken place in several French cities to mark the anniversary of President Emmanuel Macron's re-election, reports BFMTV.
It is noted that several hundred people participated in an "empty pots march" near the Paris City Hall as well as in a square adjacent to a theater in Paris. The protesters called for Macron's resignation.
It is worth recalling that on April 15, Macron signed a controversial law regarding pension reforms. The day before, on April 14, France's Constitutional Council had approved the increase of the retirement age to 64 years.
Law enforcement agencies in Paris have arrested 112 people in connection with protests against the pension reforms.
