French Side Considers 120,000 Artsakh Armenians Hostages Under Open Sky

On April 24, the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, received a delegation led by Bruno Retailleau, the head of the "Republicans" faction of the Senate of the French Republic.

The President of the National Assembly praised the continuous efforts of Bruno Retailleau and Gilbert Luc Devinaz, the leader of the France-Armenia Friendship Group, in taking effective steps after the 44-day war. He expressed gratitude to the legislators of the friendly country of France for being alongside Armenia and the Armenian people on this symbolic day.

The French counterpart noted that 108 years after the Armenian Genocide, the Armenian people continue to face existential challenges. The parties addressed the delegation's visit on April 23 to Syunik and the blocked Lachin corridor.

The French side has deemed the 120,000 Armenians in Artsakh, who are under blockade, as hostages under open sky, considering the created situation unacceptable. The parties discussed issues related to security and peace in the region.
