Azerbaijani Forces and Russian Peacekeepers Negotiating at This Moment, Says Mayor of Teghe Community
"At this moment, the Azerbaijanis and the Russian peacekeepers are negotiating exactly in the area where the Azerbaijanis are trying to establish a checkpoint," said Davit Ghoulunts, the mayor of Teghe community, in an interview with Azatutyun.
Ghoulunts was present today at the Armenia-Artsakh border near the Hakari Bridge, but the Russian peacekeepers did not allow him to proceed further.
"They want to set it up right where the Russian checkpoint is. They are not allowing anyone from the Armenian delegation or citizens to approach from right near the bridge. Beyond that point, they are currently negotiating. All of this is taking place right on the bridge; after 11-12 o'clock, the road leading to Artsakh has been closed. By closing the road, Lisagor, Mets Shen, and Hin Shen villages have been isolated. People are now in conditions similar to those experienced by the people of Artsakh," he noted.
Davit Ghoulunts mentioned that they had seen from a distance that the Azerbaijanis were carrying out work, but whether they would establish the checkpoint would depend on the outcome of the negotiations.
