VIDEO: Chairperson of 'Armenian Community of Georgia' NGO Attacked
In Tbilisi, Arthur Mirzoyan, the head of the 'Armenian Community of Georgia' NGO, was attacked. He reported this on his Facebook page.
"I was attacked by three masked individuals. One of them was filming a video. I tried to escape, but I fell to the ground. We exchanged insults, during which I was struck on the head," he recounts.
According to Mirzoyan, he sustained injuries and the attackers broke his phone and ripped his clothes. He has reported the incident to the police.
Mirzoyan is convinced that the reason for the attack was to create a climate of fear ahead of the event organized by the Armenian community in Georgia in remembrance of the Armenian Genocide anniversary. He calls on all Armenians in the area to participate in the event, which will include a march to the Turkish embassy.
