House Built in Traffic Area in Gyumri Demolished
On April 1, a video was shared online showing a house built in the first line of a traffic area in Gyumri. In the comments of the publication, some people expressed their opinions and stated: “Whoever allowed this should be punished first,” “The house of the Gyumri horse,” “This is just another way to block the road; more and more guests will visit their home,” “Where is this? Surely there’s no authority in that area.”
It has now been revealed that the house located on Paronyan Street in Gyumri is being demolished, and it has been there for 35 years.
The house belongs to a family of five, the Karapetyans. The owner, Tigran Karapetyan, recounts that the house was built after the earthquake. During all this time, no one has said anything to the Karapetyan family. Only recently, while reconstructing the street, they were summoned to the municipality and urged to demolish it.
Henrik Gasparyan, the chief architect of Gyumri, stated to “Lurer,” “An investigation has taken place; there hasn’t been a need for fines as the statute of limitations had expired, and the owners were given 2 months.”
However, the demolition work has been initiated by the relevant section of the community administration.
