The Case Against Jalal Harutyunyan to be Sent to Court
The daily newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that the six-month period for the criminal case against Jalal Harutyunyan, initiated by the Investigative Committee of Armenia, is expiring. Therefore, the preliminary investigation body has no alternative according to the Criminal Procedure Code and must announce the completion of the preliminary investigation and send the case to court by May 20.
It is noteworthy that one of the charges against Jalal Harutyunyan, who led the Artsakh Defense Army during the 44-day war, relates to the circumstances of the death of 20 artillerymen from the Tsoran military unit. Additionally, the other charge against the 47-year-old Jalal Harutyunyan, who was heavily wounded during the 44-day war and consequently dismissed from his position, states that it was his actions that led to heavy losses in personnel and military equipment for Armenian units during the counteroffensive on October 7, causing reserve units to become non-combat ready and ceding their occupied firing positions to enemy control.
