Video: Sanosyan on Construction of New Nuclear Power Plant

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, has discussed the construction plans for a new nuclear power plant. According to the minister, work on this project is expected to begin in 2025-2026.

“There are ongoing efforts; this is quite a serious and complex decision in terms of financial, political, energy, and time aspects,” he stated.

He emphasized that nuclear power plants are designed for a lifespan of 60+40 years. “They should at least have a lifespan of 100 years. Now there is a need to make the right decisions so that when it is constructed, presumably by 2035-2036, we will have a new energy block that fits into our energy system,” he added.
