Azerbaijani Soldier Confesses to Committing Murder: Lawmaker's Account
Although law enforcement agencies have not yet officially confirmed it, another ruling party MP, Narek Ghahramanyan, asserted in an interview with Azatutyun that the second Azerbaijani soldier found near Kapan is responsible for the murder of a guard at the Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine.
Moreover, the MP, who hails from Kapan and represents the ruling Civil Contract party, stated that the Azerbaijani soldier has confessed to the murder. “The captive, who crossed to our side, himself killed the guard Hayrapet at the Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine with 6 shots, if I am not mistaken. I also have reliable information that he has confessed to this as well,” Ghahramanyan said.
Why, then, have law enforcement officials not announced this? According to the lawmaker, the reason might be that the weapon used by the Azerbaijani soldier to kill the guard has not yet been found. “I think the absence of the weapon is the reason why the NSS may not confirm [the information]; the weapon is in the forests, they are searching for it. But I reiterate, there is no doubt, nor is there any doubt about it...,” Ghahramanyan noted.
