US Secret Documents Leak May Have Been Organized by Base Employee: WP
A young individual, possibly employed at an American military base, may have organized the leak of secret documents from the US administration, according to a Wednesday article published by The Washington Post.
The publication claims that these materials had been circulating in a private Discord group for several months prior to March 2023. One of the group members informed the newspaper's journalists that the secret documents were posted by a user known as O.G., who stated he works at a 'military base' that is not identified. It is also mentioned that he is slightly over 20 years old.
‘He certainly knew what he was doing when he published these documents. This is not an accidental leak,’ a member of the Discord platform told the publication. According to the newspaper, the leaked documents include materials accessible only to individuals who have undergone thorough vetting.
The Washington Post journalists noted that some members of the group reportedly know O.G.’s real name but do not disclose it. US authorities have already established contact with at least one participant. The publication claims that the Discord group also included users from Russia and Ukraine. However, it does not provide any confirmation of the mentioned hypothesis.
Discord representatives previously stated that they are cooperating with law enforcement agencies to investigate the leak of Pentagon and US intelligence secret documents.
