‘The army brilliantly fulfilled its task yesterday’: MP from the Civil Contract party

‘The army brilliantly fulfilled its task yesterday: with difficulty, but brilliantly,’ stated Armen Khachatryan, an MP from the Civil Contract faction, during a press briefing with journalists at the National Assembly.

The MP was irritated by a question from a journalist about why the Azerbaijani provocations were not prevented. Khachatryan noted that constant negotiations are taking place in that area, and that yesterday the Azerbaijani side demanded the cessation of engineering works, to which the Armenian side responded appropriately, leading to military actions. ‘We are conducting military operations, yet when we shoot, you question why we are shooting,’ Khachatryan pointed out.

He also emphasized that there has been no mediation for the cessation of hostilities. According to Khachatryan, discussions and negotiations have been halted as a result of conversations between representatives of the RA security agencies and their counterparts.
