Incident in Tegh Village Could Have Been Prevented: Movses Hakobyan
The incident that occurred in the Tegh village area of Syunik could have been prevented if Armenia had stationed troops and constructed fortifications in a timely manner, which did not happen. This was stated by former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Colonel-General Movses Hakobyan, in an interview with Sputnik Armenia, while discussing the exchange of gunfire between Armenian and Azerbaijani soldiers in the Tegh area.
By "timely manner," Hakobyan refers to the period from August 2022 to April 1 of this year.
According to the National Security Service's statement, Yerevan and Baku reached an agreement that during this specified period, the route connecting the Armenian territory to the Lachin corridor should pass exclusively through the Kornidzor-Tegh route within Armenian territory.
Hakobyan believes that the issue here is not a military one but rather a management problem.
