Allegations of Using Iranian Drones: Pashinyan on Azerbaijani Misinformation
Armenia must enhance its toolkit to counter Azerbaijan's information attacks. This statement was made today by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the question-and-answer session with the government in the National Assembly.
“This is not just a matter of sentiment for us, but of ensuring the country's security. We need to think together about how to solve this issue. For example, the Ministry of Defense has its own views on the matter, which are fundamentally acceptable,” said the Prime Minister.
Nikol Pashinyan stated that he has set only one condition: that it should be done without harming democracy.
Referring to the disinformation spread by Azerbaijani media claiming that the Armenian side used Iranian drones yesterday, Nikol Pashinyan noted that this also serves as a vivid example of an information war. “The purpose of disinformation is to suggest, 'Look, European Union, you have sent observers to Armenia, while they are using a type of weapon against Azerbaijan, with which you have problems.' This is an inseparable part of provocation,” the Prime Minister declared.
It should be noted that yesterday the Ministry of Defense denied the information circulated by Azerbaijani media regarding the alleged use of Iranian drones by the Armenian side.
