VIDEO: 'If they don't have documents for transferring construction waste, they will have problems with us' - Avinyan
During a procedural meeting of the city council, the issue of dumping construction waste at unregulated sites was discussed. City hall advisor Kamo Areyan informed that inspections have been organized with the heads of administrative districts. "The head of the Arabkir district has blocked some entrances to prevent any vehicles from entering. The head of the Malatia-Sebastia district has done the same. We will implement similar measures in Shengavit, where the problem has also intensified. The only solution is to block these areas," he said.
According to Areyan, an agreement has been reached with the patrol service to continue daily inspections.
Yerevan Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan also noted that they are combating the consequences but need to address the root of the problem. "The root of the issue is the construction sites and builders, who provide the specified mafia with an opportunity to get rid of construction waste more cheaply. From now on, completion acts should be linked to whether the builder has received the necessary documents for the construction waste site during construction," said Avinyan.
According to Avinyan, construction companies should have the relevant documents indicating where they have transferred the construction waste. "If they do not have documents indicating where the construction waste is being transferred, they will have problems with us."
