Four Dead in Louisville Bank Shooting, CNN Reports

A man opened fire at a bank in Louisville, Kentucky, resulting in the deaths of at least four people and sending eight others to the hospital, according to the city’s police department.

The suspected shooter has also been confirmed dead. Arriving officers engaged in a shootout with him, but the exact cause of his death is still under investigation.

Among the injured are two police officers, as reported by AP, citing Paul Humphrey, the deputy chief of the city’s police department. He stated that police arrived at the Old National Bank while the shooting was still ongoing. It has been determined that the shooter acted alone.

Initial reports suggest that the shooter was a former employee of the bank. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear made a social media post indicating he was heading to the scene and urged prayers for the victims' families and all of Louisville.

In a press briefing, he mentioned that one of his friends had been killed in the gunfire and another had been injured.

As previously reported, a shooting took place in downtown Louisville, resulting in fatalities.
