Wagner Private Group Attempted to Purchase Weapons from Turkey: The Washington Post
The Wagner private group attempted to purchase weapons from Turkey in February, according to The Washington Post. The publication refers to leaked American classified documents that surfaced online.
It is reported that at the beginning of February, representatives from Wagner met with the Turkish side to acquire weapons and equipment. The released materials do not clarify whether the Turkish government was aware of Wagner's attempts to procure weapons, nor whether the military company was able to reach an agreement on the purchase.
Representatives of the Turkish government have not commented on the issue. Additionally, it is noteworthy that The New York Times reported that the Pentagon is investigating the leak of classified materials on social media concerning the plans of the US and NATO to prepare the Ukrainian army for a counteroffensive. At the same time, experts do not rule out that the documents could be misinformation from foreign intelligence agencies.
