Clashes in Idlib Between Government Forces and Militants
Clashes have erupted in Syria's Idlib province between soldiers of the Syrian army and militants from the terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. The information was reported by the TASS agency.
According to Al Mayadeen television, fierce confrontations between the Syrian army and supporters of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham began in the vicinity of the village of El Fattatra in southern Idlib after the militants attempted to reach the positions of Syrian soldiers.
No information has been reported regarding the consequences of the incident.
Idlib is the only province in Syria where a significant part remains under the control of illegal armed groups, including terrorists from the Jabhat al-Nusra group. In 2017, a de-escalation zone was established there, where militants relocated after refusing to lay down their weapons in Eastern Ghouta near Damascus and in southern regions of the country.
