Video: Five-Story Building Collapses in Central Istanbul

Today, a five-story building has collapsed in the center of Istanbul. The information was reported by DHA.

It is noted that the building, located in the Karakoy central district, began to partially collapse in the morning and collapsed completely around 3:00 PM local time.

Due to the risk of collapse, the street where the building is situated was partially closed off in the morning.

Oktay Özel, head of the cultural heritage department of the Istanbul municipality, reported that a restoration permit was granted for the building in 2015, but the owner never began the restoration work.

Currently, there are no reports of casualties or injuries from the collapse.
