Anna Hakobyan's Initiated Summit Will Cost State Budget 190,000 Euros

On April 4, the Government of Armenia announced that an international summit titled "The Role of Women in Promoting Democracy, Peace, and Security" will be held in Yerevan on October 19-20 this year. On that day, the executive held a meeting of the intergovernmental commission coordinating the preparations for the summit, which was attended by Anna Hakobyan, the wife of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

The co-organizers of the event are the Republic of Armenia, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the international network "Women Political Leaders" (WPL).

Factor.am has examined the documents prepared for the organization of the summit and found that in order for the event to take place in Yerevan, the Armenian government must transfer 190,000 euros to WPL.

According to current currency exchange rates, this is equivalent to 77.9 million drams.

The media outlet adds: "From the same source, we learn that the event in Yerevan is expected to involve the participation of 200 to 250 high-ranking officials and women leaders. Issues regarding the conduct of the summit in Armenia were discussed during a meeting on February 18 of this year in Munich between Anna Hakobyan and the President and Founder of the 'Women Political Leaders' organization, Silvana Koch-Mehrin."
