Boxer Henrik Sahakyan's Doping Test Result Positive; He Excluded from National Team
The Armenian Boxing Federation has clarified the exclusion of 54 kg weight class boxer Henrik Sahakyan from the national team preparing for the World Championship. This was reported by the Armenian Boxing Federation.
"Henrik Sahakyan, in the 54 kg weight category, has not been included in the Armenian boxing team preparing for the World Championship because the Anti-Doping Organization received a positive result from the athlete's doping test. The sample from Henrik Sahakyan was taken after the Armenian Championship. The Anti-Doping Organization detected stimulants. It should be noted that before the doping test result, Henrik was part of the Armenian national team and participated in the Strandja tournament in Bulgaria this year. According to regulations, the Armenian Federation cannot include an athlete in the national team in such a situation, as the entire team could face repercussions. At the same time, we inform you that the Boxing Federation has been active in ensuring that Henrik's presumption of innocence is maintained," the statement reads.
