Azerbaijan Plans to Purchase New Weapons from Israel

Israeli defense technology companies Meteor Aerospace and SpearUAV are set to sign a contract with Azerbaijan to develop drones either this year or in 2024, according to the Middle East Institute analytical portal. Azerbaijani media has reported on this news.

“At the same time, we can expect new orders for Sa'ar 62 class patrol boats. Purchases of LORA and Barak-8 missiles, and possibly new acquisitions of the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system, are also likely. Thus, despite the fact that Turkish arms sales have become very important in recent years, the meeting of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant in February clarified that Azerbaijan is still interested in what Israeli manufacturers have to offer,” the publication states.
