Russian Aviation Tests Air Target Destruction in Armenian Skies

The personnel of the Southern Military District in Armenia is undergoing winter inspection checks at permanent deployment sites and in the Kamkhud and Alagyaz highland training grounds. This information has been provided by the press service of the Russian Southern Military District.

In the first phase, the combat readiness of the soldiers on combat duty will be assessed, along with the operational readiness of the personnel, as well as the level of armaments and military technology. A theoretical knowledge assessment of the servicemen will also be conducted.

During the next inspection phase, personnel will carry out training and combat tasks in highland conditions, including exercises in the operation of wheeled and armored vehicles, shooting drills with all types of weaponry, and meeting standards in specialized, technical, tactical, parade, and physical training, military geography, and radiation, chemical, and biological defense.

It is also noted that in the framework of planned exercises at the Kamkhud mountain training area, the servicemen of the sniper companies of the Russian military base in Armenia have improved their skills in hitting targets using various means, including volley fire.

In addition, the operational-tactical and army aviation crews will conduct training flights during which they will perform a series of assignments as part of the winter inspection training.

The pilots of the multirole MiG-29 fighter jets will practice aerial combat maneuvers, airport area defense, and the hunting of air targets. They will carry out complex and advanced flying elements at various altitudes, including in highland areas.

The crews of the Mi-8MTV-5 and Ka-52 helicopters will engage ground targets that simulate the manpower and equipment of a conditional enemy, will relocate to a reserve airfield, and develop cooperation with the units of the Russian military base at the Alagyaz and Kamkhud highland training grounds.
