Will Messi Return to Barcelona? Xavi on Messi's 'Last Dance'

Barcelona's head coach Xavi would be delighted to see Lionel Messi return to the Catalan club, but everything will depend on the Argentine. He made this statement during a press conference.

“Messi's return depends on many factors. It is clear that we are under financial fair play constraints. But I believe that it mostly depends on Leo's desire. He knows that this is his home, that the doors are open, and that we would be happy to see him,” Xavi said, as quoted by Football Espana.

“It is normal for people to be excited. This would be his 'last dance,' like it was for Michael Jordan,” Xavi added.

Earlier, Barcelona vice president Rafael Yuste announced that the club is negotiating the return of 35-year-old Messi. The Argentine played for Barcelona from 2003 to 2021 before signing a contract with Paris Saint-Germain. His contract is valid until the summer of 2023.

“The Last Dance” is a mini-documentary series about Michael Jordan's performance with the Chicago Bulls during the 1997/98 season, which was his last with the team.
