Violations Found in Only Two of 10 Samples of Cottage Cheese: ANA
The National Consumers Association has conducted a study in the dairy market to determine the accuracy of recent news about the safety of cottage cheese.
In total, 10 samples of cottage cheese were examined, and violations were found in only two of them.
Melita Hakobyan, the president of the National Consumers Association, noted that fully positive results were recorded for the companies ‘Bio Milk’, ‘Ashtarak Milk’, and ‘Tamara’.
According to laboratory tests, the worst results were registered for the cottage cheese produced by the ‘Ani’ company. “All three laboratories reported poor results. The molds, although present within normal limits (less than 50), were too high for yeasts, reaching 800, which does not comply with standards; it should be no more than 100,” she stated.
Melita Hakobyan emphasized that the tests were conducted in three different locations, and the standards were calculated based on the EAEU 03 213 safety regulations for milk and dairy products.
