Snow Expected Across Almost All of Armenia: Gagik Surenyan
This March has been one of the warmest, with the average monthly temperature being 4-5 degrees higher than normal. Gagik Surenyan, the deputy director of the Hydrometeorological and Monitoring Center, stated this during a press conference.
“Arctic cold air flows from Scandinavia are approaching our country, and the influx of these currents has already begun in our Republic. The northern regions of the Republic—Shirak, Lori, Tavush, and Aragatsotn—have been the first to respond, where a temperature decrease of 10-12 degrees has already been observed today. Tomorrow, the intensity of this cyclone will sharply increase, with the greatest intensity expected tomorrow evening, particularly after 4 PM.
If we anticipate precipitation today in certain regions of the Republic, then after noon tomorrow, precipitation will affect the entire territory of the Republic, which will manifest as snow in the mountainous and foothill areas and only as wet snow and rain mixed with snow in very low-lying areas,” Surenyan noted.
He mentioned that today, March 30, the average temperature will drop by 5-6 degrees, while on March 31, it will decrease by 6-8 degrees.
