Shots Heard in Goris? Arushanyan Responds
The Azerbaijani military has closed the Goris-Stepanakert highway between the villages of Aghavno and Tegh during the night, as reported by the Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs police.
Auroranews received reports that shots were heard in the cities of Goris and Sisian. The news agency contacted Goris Mayor Arush Arushanyan, who stated that he was in the center of Goris and has neither heard nor witnessed any gunfire.
"I am giving you a clear answer: there is no sound of gunfire. If there were sound of gunfire, I would be shooting at the border myself," he emphasized.
When asked if there had been gunfire during previous advancements by Azerbaijani forces and whether there was panic among residents, the mayor responded: "I wonder if the day will come when you will remove that word from your lexicon, so that it will also disappear from the people's mouths. If someone comes into your house, are you going to be in panic in your own home, or will you try to cut your enemy's throat? Let them panic among us," stated Arushanyan.
It is worth noting that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during today’s cabinet session that Azerbaijan has taken direct control of the road connecting Stepanakert to the villages of Hin Shen and Mets Shen.
