Alternative Road Connecting Armenia and Artsakh to Open from April 1
The ground section of the alternative road connecting Armenia to Artsakh has been ready for about 20-25 days. This was reported to Auroranews by the press service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
"The first layer of asphalt has been completed. We even have places where work on the second layer of asphalt has already begun. It will be open for traffic starting from April 1, and by summer it will be fully asphalted with three layers and equipped with road signs. This means work will be done until summer, and it will be completed by then," the statement added.
It is noteworthy that today, on March 30, during a government meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan mentioned: "As you know, following the agreement reached between Azerbaijan and the Artsakh authorities in August 2022, the route of the Lachin corridor was changed with the launch of a new road. However, since the road connecting the Lachin corridor to Armenia was not fully ready, a temporary route was implemented, which entered the territory of Armenia through the Kornidzor bridge, then re-entered Azerbaijani territory, and then back into Armenia," the Prime Minister stated.
