Earthquake Recorded in Japan
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 has struck near the shores of Hokkaido, Japan. There is no tsunami threat.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the undersea tremors were registered at 18:18 local time. The epicenter was located at a depth of 20 kilometers beneath the water.
Tremors of up to 4 on the Richter scale have been recorded in Hokkaido, Aomori, and Iwate prefectures.
