1600 Civilians Killed in Ukraine in Last Six Months, UN Reports

According to the UN, in the last six months, 6,000 civilians have been affected in Ukraine, of which 1,600 have been killed. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights' office emphasizes that the actual number of victims and those affected could be much higher.

Earlier, the UN reported that since the beginning of the war, 8,317 civilians have died in Ukraine, with nearly 14,000 injured. The report states that more than 100 medical facilities and nearly 180 educational institutions have been recorded as damaged or destroyed.

UN personnel have documented the killing of 21 civilians by Russian troops, including extrajudicial executions and attacks on civilians. The UN mission also recorded at least 25 cases of the killing of Russian prisoners of war, alongside another 15 Ukrainian POWs killed by Russian soldiers.

Ukraine's Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets criticized the UN report, stating that Kyiv seeks to obtain facts from the organization regarding possible violations committed by Ukrainians.
