‘We have not yet seen agreement from both sides on this issue’ – Zakharova
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, addressed the question of Moscow's position on the possibility of sending an international mission to Nagorno-Karabakh during a briefing. She reminded that there is currently a Russian peacekeeping mission in Artsakh.
“Our peacekeepers are making consistent efforts to ensure stability and security in the region and to prevent escalation. Much, of course, depends on the political will and actual disposition of the parties. It is important that they adhere strictly to the provisions of the trilateral statements. Regarding a new mission, the consent of both Yerevan and Baku is necessary for its deployment. We have not yet seen agreement from both sides on this issue,” Zakharova stated.
