Video: Protesters Force Law Enforcement to Flee in Paris Neighborhood

Unrest in France has flared up anew. Protesters in a neighborhood of Paris have forced law enforcement officers to flee, reports Mir.

Today, over one million people across the country did not go to work. Demonstrators have blocked roads, railways, and airports. Classes have been canceled in schools and universities, and hospitals have been closed.

About 300 cultural figures have voiced their opposition to the pension reforms and demanded the withdrawal of the bill.

French President Emmanuel Macron's speech, in which he explained why pension reforms are necessary, was deemed unconvincing and delayed by 70% of the audience, while 61% believe it will incite even more anger on the streets. The rhetoric from unions and opposition politicians has hardened, calling not for a change of prime minister, but for Macron’s resignation.
